Braces
for all age groups ( modified Inman Aligner Technology) combined with
invisible power chain can now achieve beautifully aligned smile in as little
as 8 to 12 weeks
Inman Aligners are a type of
orthodontic appliance that can straighten or move your teeth to the desired
position. Many dentists use the Inman Aligner as an alternative to the
Invisalign invisible braces system. The Aligners are restricted to the level
of movement that they can achieve and generally work better on misalignments
of the upper and lower front teeth. They are not suitable for cases where the
teeth are heavily crowded for example. After a consultation, your dentist
will be able to determine if you are suitable for treatment with the Inman
Aligner.
Unlike the Invisalign system, the Inman
Aligner is not entirely clear and has a visible metal bar that shows across
the front of the teeth. However, the Inman Aligner does have many of the same
benefits as the invisible braces system.
Similar to the Invisalign system, the
Inman Aligner is a removable appliance used to move the teeth over time. It
relies on forces created by a coiled spring on the lingual side of the
aligner (that on the inside or back of the teeth), and a bar that sits across
the front of the teeth to “squeeze” the teeth into position by
“pushing” and “pulling” them into position.

forces involved in the movement.
Treatment times are generally shorter
than with most invisible braces systems, with treatment times varying from
six to 16 weeks. The speed of the results is highly dependent on how long you
wear the appliance for each day. With the Inman Aligner you can take the
appliance off; however, the longer you wear it, the quicker you'll see
results. It is recommended that you wear the aligner for around 20 hours a
day, every day, if possible.
Just like any new appliance in your
mouth, it may feel uncomfortable at first and will take some getting used to.
Many patients say that it initially affects their speech and causes them to
salivate more, but after about a week or so you should become accustomed to
wearing the Aligner.
Shorter treatment times than
invisible braces.
Removable, so that you can eat and
clean your teeth easily during treatment.
Cheaper than invisible braces.
Only one Aligner is needed for the
entire treatment.
It is not as discreet as the
Invisalign system.
The level of movement that can be
achieved with this system is limited.
There are currently not as many
clinics offering this treatment as Invisalign, so it is harder to find a
local practitioner.
The cost of treatment with the Inman
Aligner is significantly less than with comparable treatment with invisible
braces; however, the exact costs will depend on many factors, such as:
How complicated the treatment is and
the amount of movement required.
The level of expertise of the
dentist.
The practice where the treatment is
carried out.
The length of treatment.
Expect to pay between £1250 and £2500
per treatment.
Power chains are
made of the same type of elastic material as the elastic ligatures (the
o-shaped elastics that hold your arch wire to each bracket). In essence,
power chains are like a bunch of ligatures linked together. Placed on your
teeth, they form a continuous band, from one tooth to the next. Usually, you
wear power chains instead of ligatures. Sometimes, your orthodontist
can put both a ligature (or tie wire) and power chains on your teeth.
It depends on what is attempting to be accomplished. Occasionally, some
orthodontists decide to give you "power chains" made of wire (where
a continuous piece of wire is twisted around each bracket).

Due
to an accident as a child, my poor front teeth were
dentures (on a bridge). The problem I had was that the
centre line was off by quite a lot, which I found
humiliating when I smiled.
The
treatment Dr Vadgama recommended was to put implants
and a new bridge in to create a new centre line.
Even
though dental work is quite intrusive and sometimes
stressful, I have always felt completely confident in

have been replaced by crowns – this is many years

Mr Kerne B Clemence
As a teenager, every visit to the dentist seemed to involve
pain, drilling and filling. As an adult, sensitive,
decaying back teeth caused discomfort when eating,
prompting regular feelings of regret that I had not
looked after my teeth.
Retirement from the teaching profession gave me the time to
follow up a recommendation to consult Dr V J Vadgama.
From the very moment I entered his pristine practice,
the confidence to trust him with my problems just grew
and grew. The warm and caring approach, together with
the consummate skill, knowledge and experience of Dr
Vadgama set me on the road to recovery.
He has changed my life. I now have twelve fully restored
back teeth with not a filling in sight. I can eat food
which is very hot or very cold without flinching and I
now treasure each tooth as a friends to be looked
